Celebrate Love

In the opening scene of the movie Love Actually, the narrator, Hugh Grant, suggests that whenever he gets gloomy about the state of the world, he thinks about the arrival gates at Heathrow Airport.  He then goes on to say that although general opinion suggests we live in a world filled with hatred & greed, that in fact, love is all around, we simply need to look for it.

The scene gets me every single time.  Maybe I am just a big sap, some might even suggest I am a Pollyanna, but I think the real reason is just that I tend to agree.  Love truly is all around us.

Don’t believe me?  I encourage you to open your eyes & have a look.

Take a little extra time to remind the people around you just how very much they are loved.  Let them know they matter.  That they are valued & such a very important part of your world.

It seems only fitting during the holiday season to call attention to this important message. For isn’t love the best gift we could ever give & receive?

Whatever you celebrate over the holidays, I wish you love!

Hugs,

L❤️

Wonderful message Lynn. I have been heartened this year when out doing last minute errands at the kindness of strangers in lines and parking lots. Perhaps all are ready for the message of love. Sending very best wishes and big hugs to you and your whole family. Hoping to see you in 2020!

Thank you Jude! Yes, you have sure had a crazy year over there politically although I don’t think you are alone!

I can’t tell you how many times I have watched that film & love it each & every time. For whatever reason this year, the narration in the intro really stuck with me. We could all focus a little more on love I think!

Sending you mine this holiday season 😘

  7. What a nice reminder that the world isn’t filled with hate and adversity… certainly there is more of that than we’d like, but there is so much love too. I love Love Actually and I try to see it at least once a year. Best wishes for a wonderful, love-filled Christmas and New Year!

I do agree with you, Lynn! There is so much love and good in the world, but the trouble is, we don’t always look for it. And I’ve learned that we tend to see exactly what we look for.

    • Lynn says:

It’s funny Ann, I have watched that movie multiple time & for some reason those words in the opening scene really resonated with me this year. I have been looking & love truly is everywhere💕😘

I could not agree more. If we have love we have everything. Love is all there is.

So true David. None of us knows what tomorrow may bring. It is important to be mindful of the love we are gifted & to remind those in our life who matter so very much to us.💕. Happy New Year!

Do you know I’ve never seen that movie? I know, it seems impossible but it’s true. Now I want to make sure and catch it next year… because love, you know!

  16. Thanks for the reminder on that movie… which I really enjoyed the first few times but will definitely go back and see it again now that you reminded me. Yes, love is all we have. Nothing all matters. If we have love, we have it all.
