So Here’s the Thing

I know that there has been a lack of words written here over the past number of months.  So many of you have reached out to ask if I am still writing which truly touches my heart to know that you even care.

Let’s face it, life just gets challenging & really hard sometimes.  We’ve all experienced it.

Unexpected bumps and dips in the road that occur for a multitude of reasons, causing us to spend our energies elsewhere.   We do the best we can to swerve around the bumps & dig ourselves out of the dips, all the while trying to keep our sanity intact!  Some days if feels like a constant uphill battle.

That’s me standing in the boat, clearly not paying attention to the golden rule: You should never stand up in a boat!

But we continue to climb, to fall & to get up again to dust ourselves off and muster on.  We remind ourselves that there are far worse challenges people are facing every single day than our own.

I am still here, in spite of my absence and I remain confident that calmer days are in store, days that hopefully look a little more like this!

This is more the vibe I am going for! Maybe I should trade in my car for a kayak! 😂

Hey, one can dream!

Until then, I thank you for your love & your support. I hope to once again have time to pick up my writing.  I certainly feel like I still have lots left to share.  I hope you’ll stay with me!

Hi Lynn, This s resonates with me right now. Ironic that we ran into each other by chance at the grocery store…it was lovely to chat over avocados, and I came away with an affirmation that I still have connections out there even when I feel I have been buried in the snowdrift of my own life without looking up for so long. Nice to hear from you here again. Be well, and keep slogging…those deck chairs are out there waiting for us both!
    xx Deb

    • Lynn says:

Hello my friend! Seems like you & I have both been deep in it, doesn’t it? Keep on keeping on girl! I’ll bring the wine when we finally have a chance to park our butts in those chairs! Thanks for stopping by & dropping a little love. Xoxo

  2. Be careful what you wish for. If I had a kayak and a nice lake out back, I’d write less.

  3. cindy knoke says:

Synchronicity! I just did a post with two Adirondack chairs.

  4. Robin Burns says:

Lynn, my dear friend, you always find such an eloquent way to express your thoughts, the trials and tribulations of life and how so many of us often feel but lack your beautifully written words. Thank You! My kayak is always available and of course I’d love to share one of those chairs with you when the time comes. I hope that you find some opportunity to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy life as you embark on your next adventure! Big Hugs!

    • Lynn says:

Robin, your support & words of encouragement have been such a gift in my life. Your friendship has been a constant & I am so grateful to have you by my side. You can pull up a chair with me any old time my friend! Sending those hugs right back at ya!

  5. So nice to hear from you, Lynn. Those chairs by the water are tempting for sure.

I will be waiting to welcome you back Lynn ☺
Take whatever time you want to, and while you’re at it, spoil yourself a bit. 🎶

    • Lynn says:

Awe, thanks Dave! Heading out to girls weekend for some fun & relaxation. I hope you are doing well & thank you so much for your support & encouragement 💕

  7. Ingrid says:

Ah, I can relate. Glad to hear from you and love that image of the blue chairs on the dock.

    • Lynn says:

Thanks Ingrid. Believe or not, that pic was just taken on my phone😲! Hope you arrived safely with of your personal wares in tow!

      • Ingrid says:

Yep, we’re all settled into our spot for the winter and move went smoothly. Although, I think we headed south a tad too early … it’s still hot 🌵 I’m using my iPhone more and more for photography and my new camera is sitting idol 🤔 The phones these days do take amazing images.

  8. Joanne Sisco says:

It’s always a treat to hear from you, Lynn. Whenever you poke your head out, I’ll be here to listen 🙂

  9. SarahC says:

Been one of those years…..need the vacation setting and just sit!

  10. restlessjo says:

We sometimes think we’re the only ones, soldiering on with troubles, but it’s so true that some people’s can make yours fade into insignificance. But not quite! Because they’re your troubles and not someone else’s. I hope the path smooths out soon, Lynn. Meantime, I’ll hope I can deliver a hug in person. 🙂 🙂

    • Lynn says:

So true Jo, when we are deep in our own challenges, it can be hard to see beyond them. I will welcome that in person hug if we get the chance🤗

  11. Heyjude says:

Time goes by so quickly, really we have such a short time on this planet. I’m sorry to hear that things have been topsy turvy and hope that they flatten out sometime soon. Nice to know that you are still around though. We blogging pals do get a little worried when someone is MIA. 🤗

  12. That diagram….The reality of life. Brought back a memory of one of my sons sho stood up in the kayak after being told not to, and of course it tipped over, into chilly waters. Such is life.

Whatever you are going through, I share a Buddhist saying that I quote often:

    This too shall pass…

Beautiful photo and tranquil scene. The “promise” of calmer times.

  13. Ann Coleman says:

Thanks to taking the time to let us know that you are basically okay, and that you will be back to active blogging soon. I had wondered when I didn’t see any new posts. I’m just hoping that your life is indeed peaceful for a while….Take care!!!

  14. As a friend said to me the other day “Ride those bumps, we have no choice.” Sorry the road has become challenging for you but it’s great to hear from you when you are able. We’ll all still be here waiting. Hang in there. But for pity’s sake sit down in the boat! Hugs to you. x

    • Lynn says:

I usually follow those darn boat rules but I must have been trying desperately to see if I could possibly get out of that darn dip! I shall be more careful next time😂.

Thank you so much for your note Heather. I so appreciate the kindness & support of my friends through my writing.

I feel like I still have an awful lot to say although there might be those who preferred I didn’t!

      Hope you are doing well💕

  15. WendyWu says:

With you on SO many levels Lynn Luvvy. Sold my car and have e-bike goals (how easy is that) that are panning out (like my life) just like your diagrams! I can still see your beautifully comforting wonderful sense of humour though, tucked into your courageous post which seems to be reaching out to gain courage and strength yet by still being a giver to others as you always manage to do. You have given so much and are allowed to take deck chair time out whenever you want (eating yummy avocadoes & supping wine like a lady). And yes, I am still on the planet darling … that clinical trial has bought me more life! But thanks for reminding me about stepping out & writing.
Won’t see you in the supermarket, & will always be an e-hug from me I guess but love heaps too from downunder, Wendy xx((e-hug))

    • Lynn says:

Oh my gosh Wendy, thank you for your very kind words. I just returned from a very relaxing girls weekend which is always wonderful therapy💕. I hope that you continue on a wellness path my friend with your clinical trial. Sending you Uber e-hugs🤗

  16. Ally Bean says:

I didn’t know you were back to blogging and I’m happy to see you. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog, btw. I want to sit on those Adirondack chairs with a mug of coffee, too. I understand the bumpiness of life, but hope that your path ahead will be less bumpy. Or more tolerable, I guess. If the bumps are still there, but you’re taking them better… Anyhow, all the best. Keep on, keeping on.

    • Lynn says:

Hahahaha! Thanks Ally! I haven’t written a whole lot lately but I am hoping to get back to it.

You are welcome to join me on the Adirondack chairs any ole time and with the weather turning a little cooler up here in Ontario, Canada, a hot beverage and a nice warm blanket may be needed to get comfy!

Thanks so much for stopping by my friend. I shall do my best to keep on keepin’ on!

  17. Al says:

So glad to hear you haven’t left us forever, Lynn. We actually do have a lake behind us and two kayaks. Really. Come by anytime!!

    • Lynn says:

I have not Al, although my writings have been practically nonexistent! Hope to rectify that a little in the coming days.

How lucky you are to have a lake and a couple of kayaks at your doorstep! Thanks for the invite!
