Celebrate the Human Spirit

For the past few days, many of us have been holding our breath as we have been watching the coverage of the rescue attempt of 12 boys & their coach from a cave in Thailand.

After 18 days, thankfully & miraculously, all 13 have now been safely brought to the surface through the efforts of thousands of volunteers.

As this international team of volunteers assembled, gathering their expertise to work towards a common effort, it struck me that if this is not an example of how we can work together as human beings collectively towards a positive outcome, I don’t know what is.

We can & should learn from this experience.

Regardless of where we come from, what religion we practice, what colour our skin is or what culture we happen to immerse ourselves in, if we all work together as human beings, what we can accomplish is nothing short of miraculous.

I encourage you to give some thought to this & transfer those thoughts in a positive way as you go about your day.

Celebrate the human spirit!

Hugs,

L❤

Agree. Agree. Agree. This rescue has shown the world the best there is within humanity. Time to use this event as the yardstick by which we measure all other world events. [Yes, I’m looking at you, Donald.]

I could not agree more, and I certainly hope and pray that we can all, somehow, keep up the momentum of this situation and continue to bring miracles out of the caverns of this world!

I am in awe of the teamwork exercised throughout this rescue. I was watching a reporter today at the scene & she panned the area, talking about the locals who were there each & every day with food for anyone who needed it. Amazing how such a diverse group of people can all rally isn’t it?

Thank you so much for visiting today & taking the time to comment. Much appreciated!

  3. It’s a really beautiful story.

  4. Stories like this help me to realize that all may not be lost as we fumble our way through these crazy times. So much bravery, careful planning, and talent went in to rescuing these boys and their couch.

    • Lynn says:

I can’t imagine the patience & dedication it takes to orchestrate this kind of a rescue. Kudos to each & every individual who contributed to the success of this mission!

  5. Reblogged this on Musings and Wonderings and commented:
Yes indeed it would be wonderful if we could learn from this but humanity seems to have one major flaw that gets in the way occasionally—- greed!

    • Lynn says:

Wayne, there will always be greed but if we allow ourselves to only focus on the negative in society, we neglect to see the positives that are right in front of us every day. Thanks so much for the reblog & for visiting

Totally unbeivable the way this whole event unfolded but, thanking God for the final outdome!!! Wow,wow, wow is ll I can say (and we thought we had curve balls thrown at us!?!?)

    • Lynn says:

Great point Bev! Just when we think life is a little overwhelming, we are reminded of the challenges someone else is facing! Curve balls be damned!😂

I’m so happy to hear this! I had read yesterday that there were four left. Of course, this was in my newspaper, so old news. Ha! I usually check through Twitter! Sending lots of happy thankful vibes out into the world today!

I was wondering who would post first about this unbelievable miracle. You have said it all in such a eloquent and meaningful way. We are all so relieved. Hope the coach is able to mentally navigate the recriminations that are sure to come. We all make mistakes and misjudgments, but he turned it around to be a savior to those boys to keep them focused for the rescue.

    • Lynn says:

Al, one of the things I found interesting in listening to the coverage is that although there is question around his decision to take the boys into the cave, the families & community in Thailand have displayed nothing but high regard for this young man & have rallied around him in a big way. I found that fascinating!

That rescue made me realize just exactly how the world is supposed to be! I do hope we can learn something from this.

Like so many Lynn i was mesmerised by the story. Watching the world come together in such a collaborative effort recharged my batteries in the belief of human kindness. We can accomplish so much when we use the power of positive love in our day to day lives.

    • Lynn says:

Sue, it is in facing challenges like this one that the human spirit seems to be at its very best. Positive actions towards others, respect & above all else, love is key in keeping that spirit alive.❤️

  13. restlessjo says:

Absolutely, Lynn! We started out hardly daring to have hope for those kids, and when you watch the rescue effort it’s almost miraculous. I can’t remember feeling more relief and gratitude. 🙂 🙂 How are things with you?

  14. dfolstad58 says:

Don Rickles used to talk about when he was in the navy. He said in the navy no one cares whether you went to a church, mosque or synagogue, whether you were red, white, or brown. They were all one unit sweating and fighting to keep each other alive.

  15. LB says:

Lynn, you are so right! What a riveting story and a wonderful ending … if not for the loss of Samarn Kunan, it would have been perfect. And yes, the coming together for the common goal.
Your words are so on point!

  16. Lynn says:

Thanks LB! So lovely to have you pop by for a visit!

  17. NAMRASTAN says:
