Off on another Adventure

Today I am departing on yet another fabulous adventure with my travel girls, or as I like to refer to us, The Fearsome Foursome!

Our first trip together was about 9 years ago when our friend “J” was about to celebrate a significant birthday.  Turning 50, she expressed a desire to spend her special day in Italy. Reaching out to a few of her friends, she invited us to join her, & voila, the Fearsome Foursome was born.

As we sat sipping wine together on our last day in Italy, we reminisced about what a fabulous time we had had, not wanting the experience to end.  An idea was formed & a promise made that we would make an attempt to continue our travel together, planning an adventure every 2 or 3 years, for as long as our health & our finances would allow us.

Since that initial trip to Italy, we have visited Greece, France, Spain & Portugal together, all of which I hope to write about at some point.

Today we head to Lisbon for a few days & then on to Morocco.  For some crazy reason, we all have the desire to get on a camel & ride out into the desert before our old bones won’t allow us to.

This trip is a little different from what we would normally do.  We generally develop our own itinerary, plotting our own course & renting properties along the way.  All of us agree that this gives us a much more organic experience, allowing us to truly get a feel for the places we have had the good fortune to visit.

For this excursion, we made the decision to book with a tour company.  Not a big bus with 80 people kind of tour.  Our tour is a private one, just the 4 of us with our driver who will wind his way through Morocco with four 50+ year old women.

If the man is still sane by the end of his 15 day stint with the four of us cackling in his ear, it will be a miracle!

This is how we roll! On our patio, overlooking the caldera in Oia, Santorini, Greece

He has no idea what he is in for!  Until next time….

Hugs,

L

How was it we forgot the Moroccan mail man?? Will have to create another opportunity..Driss’s wedding?? 🙂 🙂

    • Lynn says:

I did think about it a few times but the “white wine” just didn’t seem to cut it! A mailman at Driss’s wedding? That would sure get the village talking!
