Comfy Cozies

Comfy Cozies.

I first heard this term a number of years ago, from a friend of mine.  She was also the first person, to my knowledge, to proclaim “It’s A WEEEEE DAY.”  This is usually announced in the very early hours of the morning, most likely just as the sun is rising! Her definition of a WEEEEE Day is different from that of the young, hip Kielbergers, but her version is warranted of a full post as well as why we call her Our Sunshine Friend.  Guess that means I now have two more posts to write. She is just that important!

Back to comfy cozies…a number of years ago, upon returning from a long day of shopping on a girls weekend, my sunshine friend suggested that, before we break out copious amounts of wine & snacks, we should all get into our comfy cozies.  Interestingly enough, although none of us had never heard of such a term, we all knew exactly what she was referring to!  This did not take much convincing on our part I might add, for what better way to enjoy a plethora of dips, chocolate & wine than in your comfy cozies.

For those that still don’t know what the hell I am referring to, comfy cozies are those pieces of clothing that beckon you after a long, hard day.  When you slip them on, you find yourself releasing a big sigh & somehow life just got a wee bit better.  They make you feel like you have just been wrapped in a wonderful, warm hug.  This is usually followed by the urge to curl up somewhere, perhaps with a nice glass of wine or a cup of tea.

Comfy cozies may look different to each of us.  Perhaps they are a beloved worn out pair of track pants, a cozy fleece or a nightshirt that has seen better days because it has been washed so many times.  Doesn’t matter what they look like, they just feel good as soon as you put them on.

Mine these days are a favourite pair of lime green pyjama pants with moose on them:) I think they may be calling to me….Happy Sunday!!!!

What do your comfy cozies look like?

In the house: a purple full-length cotton peasant skirt (with a really comfy shirred waistband) Ok, maybe not purple anymore… maybe greyed lilac is a closer truth. Topped with any of a selection of old loose cotton tops. Worn with my totally worn comfy slippers and cotton work socks. May you never see me in this apparel!!!
In the garden: old jeans, the kind that DON’T cling; straight legged. And another of a huge selection of old loose cotton tops. And old sneakers that I don’t wear anywhere else but the garden. Tilley hat.

Oh… and need I mention that above-mentioned house garb seems to have a bag of “Rold Gold” pretzels hovering nearby?
